Lauren "Roy" Lingrel


Lauren "Roy" Lingrel, 72 of Byhalia died Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

He was born June 10, 1943 in Mt. Victory to Lauren A. and Grace (Fout) Lingrel.  On February 26, 1983 he married the former Connie Blanton in Delaware and she survives.

A 1961 graduate of Byhalia High School, he was a member of the Cypress Wesleyan Church in Galloway.  He had worked as a machinist at Rockwell in Kenton.  A member of the U. S. Trotting Association, he was a driver, trainer and owner in the harness racing industry for 54 years.  Roy was a dedicated farmer who loved being outdoors.  Above all else, family was most important to him.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Lingrel, Byhalia; his mother, Grace Lingrel, Mt. Victory; three sons, Charles Lingrel, Kenton; Shannon (Heather) Lingrel, Mt. Victory; Troy (Colleen) Sedlock, Hilliard; two daughters, December Miller, Richwood; Shawna (Rick) Jones, Peoria; three sisters, Bonnie (Gary) Johnson, Wapakoneta; Linda Sparling; Mt. Victory; Debbie Lingrel, Dola; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his father, Lauren A. Lingrel.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood, Rev. Dennis Burns will officiate.  Burial will follow in Byhalia Cemetery.  Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home in Richwood.
