Harold E. Shull


Harold E. Shull, 89 of Lancaster, formerly of Prospect, passed on to his eternal home Friday evening, May 6, 2016 at the Pickering House in Lancaster.

He was born May 10, 1926 in Sugar Grove to the late Frank H. and Lucy G. (Krile) Shull.  He was also preceded in death by three wives, Regina Lutz, Norma Barber, and F. Lucille Laughorn, who died December 20, 2010; a step-son, Terry Redmon; five brothers, Fred, Russell, Paul, Raymond and Franklin Shull; a sister, Maribelle Sealy; an infant son, Danny Lee; and a great-grandson, Danny.

A veteran of the U. S. Navy, he had served during World War II.  He had worked as a tool and die maker for RBM in Lancaster and also at Roper of Newark and later at Eljer Plumbing in Marysville.  He enjoyed being a school bus driver.  Harold was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Prospect and the Prospect Senior Citizens.  He had served as Sunday School Superintendent at Sponagle Lutheran Church in Sugar Grove.  

He is survived by two daughters, Sandra Sue (Larry) Alvis, Lancaster; Dixie Ann (Allen) Frazier, Lancaster; five grandchildren, Jason, Dustin, Joseph, Christopher and Holly; six great-grandchildren; a step-son, David M. (Allyson) Redmon, Farmington Hills, Michigan; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 10, which would have been his 90th birthday, at 1:00 PM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Prospect with Pastor Brock Klobe officiating.  Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the church, beginning at 11:00 AM.  Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Marion County United Veterans Council.
