William Larry “Bill” Nibert


William Larry “Bill” Nibert, 80 of Richwood, died peacefully Saturday morning, May 14, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born September 15, 1935 in Marysville to the late Austin and Ruth (Justice) Nibert.  He was also preceded in death by two granddaughters, Harley Nibert and Courtney Nibert; and a brother, Tony Nibert.

On September 2, 1954 he married the former Johna Eaches in Richwood and she survives.

A veteran of the U. S. Navy, he belonged to the American Legion and Forty & Eight and in 2014 was privileged to take the Honor Flight.

He drove a bread truck for Tasty Bread for about ten years before he bought Nelson Blue's insurance agency in Richwood and started Nibert Insurance, which continues operations to this day.  Bill served as a council member and president for the Village of Richwood for over thirty years, and served as mayor for over twenty-five years.

He was a member of Mt. Carmel #303 F&AM, Aladdin Shrine, the former Richwood Lions Club, Indian Lake Moose Lodge #1533, Elks, Indian Lake Eagles 3615, and had served as the director of the Ohio Harness Horseman’s Association.

Besides his wife he is survived by children, Sherry (Kenny) Jones, Marion; Larry (Candy Finley) Nibert, Richwood; Gary (Angel) Nibert, Richwood, Theresa (Charlie) Jordan, Richwood; grandchildren, Trisha (James Rivers) Welch, Branden (Brittany) Nibert, Levi Nibert, Ashley Jordan, Dylan (Kristen Knowles) Nibert, Tiffany Jordan, Justice Nibert, Dominic Nibert, Jillian Nibert, Will Nibert; great-grandchildren, Kody Welch, Blaine Rivers, Hannah, Mason and Riley Nibert, Kolton, Kaylee and Kallie Nibert, Jada Knowles, and Blake Nibert.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Joe Rhea officiating.  Military honors will be provided by the Richwood Area Veterans and burial will take place at Claibourne Cemetery.  Friends may call on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 3 to 7 PM at the funeral home in Richwood where a Masonic Service will be conducted by Mt. Carmel #303 F&AM at 7 PM.
