Marthabelle Stiffler


Marthabelle Stiffler 90 of Richwood, died early Tuesday morning August 2, 2016 at the Arbors of Delaware.

She was born February 6, 1926 in Delaware County to the late John and Mayme (Kirby) Kirk, she was also predeceased by an infant brother: Donald Ray Kirk and two sisters: Marjorie Lauer and Anna Mary Rawlins

Marthabelle was a 1944 graduate of the Prospect High School, she was a true farmwife, working alongside her husband taking care of whatever needed to be done on the farm. She was a longtime member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Prospect, where she was very active with the Katherine Luther Circle and had taught Sunday School with Ada Ruth Keller for many years, she was a member of the Prospect Senior Citizens and a former member of the local OCCL.
Marthabelle enjoyed crocheting, embroidery work, needlework and ceramics

On April 5, 1947 she married Earnest L. Stiffler and he died May 31, 2005, surviving are their sons: John Jay (Jan) Stiffler of Richwood and Donald L. (Pam) Stiffler of Prospect, grandchildren: Karla (Tom) Steurer, Lori (Aaron) Stidham, Amy (Mike) Feasel and Leslie (Dustin) Freed, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews
one sister: Joanne Hosey of Sandusky

Funeral Services will be held Friday August 5, 2016 at 11:00 am at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Prospect, officiating will be Kevin Kehn, Associate in Ministry, burial will follow in the Prospect Cemetery, friends may call Thursday from 5-7 pm at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood.
