Florence (Grose) Borland
Florence (Grose) Borland 89 of Richwood, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, November 11th, 2016 at the Heartland of Marion.
Born August 11, 1927 at South Solon, near Springfield. Daughter of the late Emor L. and Glenna (Morris) Grose, Sr. On August 22, 1945, she married Donald L. Borland of 67 years. He died October 27, 2012.
A homemaker, 65 yr. member of York Center United Methodist Church for 64 years, member of Ladies Aid Society, Sunday School Teacher for 25 years, Church Historian, worked with REAP Food Pantry for 21 years, and a member of Richwood Civic Center.
Surviving are two daughters, Donna (Bill) Carpenter, Ostrander, Deborah (Michael) Miller, Richwood and one son, David (Jill) Borland of Richwood.
One Granddaughter, Sara(Corey)Schwartz.
One Great Grandson, Colton Schwartz.
Four Step Grandsons, Carl, Jim, and John (Connie) Carpenter and Payne Townley. Five Step Great Grandchildren, Brandon, Kathy, William, Dennis and Daniel. Five Step Great, Great Grandchildren, Damien, Madison, Lily, Emily and Penelope.
Three sisters, AnnaMae (Jack)Hines, Raymond, Mary Jane (Harold) Durban, Richwood and Gail (Gary)Price of Florida. Six brothers, Howard (Evelyn), Donald (Betty Richardson) and Lynn (Mary)Grose all of Richwood, Carl (Mary Lou) and James (Connie)Grose both of Marion, Kenneth(Violet) Grose, Marysville, sisters-in-law Helen (Richard) Borland Kale and Shirley Grose. She has many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Florence was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Ella Grose and Bettie Dill, three brothers, Emor L. Jr., Paul, and Harold Grose, three sisters-in-law, Beverly and Erdine Grose and Martha Kerns, two nephews, Thomas Hines and Michael Grose, her in-laws, Lawson and Edna (Luft) Borland, brothers-in-law Millard and Carl Borland, and Clifford Dill.
Friends may call on Thursday, November 17th from 4-7 PM at Stofcheck Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 18th at 11:00 AM at the York Center United Methodist Church. Pastor Dan Grose(Nephew)and Pastor Jeff Waeger will officiate. Burial will be in Claibourne Cemetery.
