Thomas E. Wilson


Thomas E. Wilson, 88 of LaRue, died unexpectedly Thursday morning, December 15, 2016 at home.

He was born April 5,1928 in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania to the late William Aaron and Katherine (Kanoza) Wilson.  He was also preceded in death by a son, Tommy on Feb. 6, 2012 and three brothers, Bill, Ray, and Jack.

On September 17, 1955 he married the former Geraldine Huszinko in the Mother of Sorrows Church in McKees Rocks.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Marion and the Knights of Columbus in Marion.  He had been a member of the former St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in LaRue.

He loved hunting when he was able.  Tom was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and LeBron James and the Cavaliers.  He was happy to have lived long enough to see three great-grandchildren, who along with his grandchildren were the apple of his eye.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U. S. Army.  He worked for the U. S. Postal Service in Marion and Columbus.  He also worked previously at Tecumseh in Marion.

He is survived by two daughters, Lori Wilson and Kathy Wilson, both of LaRue; sisters, Ruth Herman, Sun City, Arizona; Carol (Ed) Sanctis, Greentree, Pennsylvania; two sisters-in-law, Charlene Wilson, Monroeville, Pennsylvania; Betty Wilson, San Pedro, California; grandchildren, Trent (Alexis), Adam, and Eric (Misty) King; great-grandchildren, Skyler, Maxton and Kenzie King.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marion with Rev. Thomas Buffer officiating.  Military honors will be conducted by the Marion County United Veterans Council.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery near LaRue. Friends may call on Monday from 5 to 7 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, LaRue where a Rosary service will be held at 7 PM.
