Phyllis Irene Hickok


Phyllis Irene Hickok 77 of Marysville, died peacefully Wednesday September 6, 2017 at the Arlington Court Nursing Home in Upper Arlington.

She was born October 31, 1939 in Flat Gap, Kentucky to the late Benjamin Franklin and Hazel Marie (McKenzie) Evans, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jim Duane Hickok, they were married May 26, 1956 in Delaware and he died September 24, 1991, also preceding are one granddaughter: Jessica Hickok, two sisters: Juanita Cantrell, Martha Holsinger and three brothers: Doug Evans, Bob Evans and Dallas Evans

Surviving are her devoted children: Kwana "Lynn"(Michael) Picker, Bellefontaine, Steve (Terri) Hickok, South Salem, Mike (Denise) Hickok, West Mansfield, Becky (Rod) Fitch, Magnetic Springs and Rhonda (Mark) Kennison, Richwood.

Grandchildren: Ashley (Kirt) Penhorwood, Stephenie (Chad) Stoll, Steve "Munch" (Yvonne) Hickok, Shawn (Emily) Hickok, Kimi (Derrick) Hickok, Cody (Gemika) Hickok, Chris (Ellie)Roseburrough, Ashley (Brad Boots) Roseburrough, Dustin (Shanna) Fitch, Josh (Lynn) Fitch, Brad McNew, Anthony (Jessica) McNew and Mark (Ashley) Kennison Jr.

Sister-in-Law: Mae (Jim) Schilling, 3 Brother-in-Laws: Ernie (Velma) Hickok, Bill (Reta) Hickok, and Earl Cantrell. Also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many extended family members. Special Friend: Dick Rush, who brought her great joy the past few years.

She had a tremendous love not only for family but for the many other people who touched her life. She was known as "Mom" or" Grandma" to so many people throughout her lifetime. She was an extremely kind and generous soul that you just couldn't help but to love her. In her earlier days, she loved to crochet, garden, cook, camp, and thoroughly enjoyed family events. She worked at Ranco in Delaware, Ohio, retiring in 1984. After retiring, she became a homemaker once again. She was a member of the Holy Spirit Fellowship in Delaware.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday September 12, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood, burial will follow in the Claibourne Cemetery, Chaplain Stephen Hielkema will officiate. Friends may call two hours prior to the service beginning at 11:00 am at the funeral home in Richwood.
