Mary E. McElroy
Mary E. McElroy, 84 of Richwood, died peacefully Friday evening December 14, 2018 at the Wexner Medical Center at O.S.U.
She was born April 29, 1934 in Essex to the late Leo Forrest “Whoopie” and Vida LaVon (Reynolds) Price, she was also preceded in death by two daughters: Cathy McElroy and Diane Lynn Glenz, sisters: Elsie Wiley and Ella Jean Hague
Mary was a 1952 graduate of the Richwood High School, she had worked in the insurance industry throughout her working career. She also had worked at the Richwood Civic Center. She loved volunteering at the Memorial Hospital in Marysville. Mary was a member of the Rush Creek (Essex) United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing. Mary collected Precious Moments figurines over the years.
Surviving is her husband Merle Justin McElroy, they were married August 9, 1953 at the Essex United Methodist Church, their son: Scott McElroy of Raleigh, NC., son-in-law: Tom Glenz of Tampa, Florida
Grandchildren: Nicholas (Natalie) Dierkes and Jan Marie (David Crowder) Dierkes
Two step grandchildren: Thomas P. (Sarah) Glenz and Katie Glenz
Three great grandchildren: Brooklyn Diane
Dierkes, Isaac Leverette Dierkes, Cora Diane Dierkes Crowder
one step great granddaughter: Amanda Glenz
Siblings: Glenn Price of Lakeview, Earl (Jill) Price of LaRue, William (Helen) Price of Richwood, Robert (Barbara) Price of New York and Inez Emptage of Marion
Memorial Services will be held Saturday December 29, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood, Pastor Josh Freshour will officiate, burial will follow in the Price Cemetery, friends may call Friday December 28, 2018 from 5-7 pm at the funeral home in Richwood.
