Lowell Dean Taylor


Lowell Dean Taylor 82, of Radnor, died peacefully Saturday evening January 19, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born May 30, 1936 in Radnor to Thomas Luellen and Thelma (Schultz) Taylor, his mom survives in Ashley at the age of 105.

Lowell was a 1954 graduate of the Radnor High School, where he excelled in baseball, this led him to be drafted by the St. Louis Cardinal organization. In keeping with his love of baseball, he coached many teams in the Radnor area and then enjoyed playing in the senior softball leagues in Delaware. He was also a veteran, serving our country in the Air Force.

He was a lifetime member of the Fulton Creek Friends Church. Lowell was a farmer and a maintenance mechanic for 30 years for the Anheuser Busch Company in Columbus. He was also the township snowplow driver for Thompson Township for 50 years, he cherished this job.
Lowell was the longest serving member of the Delaware County Republican Committee, serving 50 years.
When he had spare time, he enjoyed spending time with family and going to their activities and always loved going to Port Clinton to fish.

Surviving is his wife Aldena (Church) Taylor, they were married December 11, 1955 in Radnor, also surviving are their children: Tom (Joanne) Taylor, Ostrander, Lisa Oman, Richwood, Terri (Joel) Sutton, Vandalia and David Taylor, Radnor

Grandchildren: Zachary (Stephanie) Taylor, Brookston Taylor, Dillon Oman, Isaac (Megan) Oman, Jacelyn (Josh) Tempel, Seth Sutton, Simon Taylor and Morgan Taylor.
Seven great grandchildren

Siblings: Pat (Charlie) Snare of Marion, Sherry Shelton of Keller, Texas and Linda (Phil) Seiter of Blanchard, Michigan
He was preceded in death by his father and a son: Craig Allen Taylor

Funeral services will be held Friday January 25, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Fulton Creek Friends Church, Pastor Dennis Peters will officiate, burial will follow in the Claibourne Cemetery. There will be Military Honors conducted by the Richwood Area Veterans. Friends may call Thursday from 4-7 pm at the Fulton Creek Friends Church.
