Carolyn Sue Scaggs
Carolyn Sue Scaggs, 77, of Prospect, died peacefully Friday morning July 12, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born August 23, 1941 in Portsmouth to the late Charles Wesley and Mable Ora (Evans) Whaley, she was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Carolyn had worked at many different nursing homes in the area over the years. She had an old-school spirit, as she enjoyed some of the simple things in life, cooking, crocheting, crossword puzzles, working in her flower garden and family get togethers. She also had a passion for collecting eagles.
Carolyn will be remembered by her family as a Beautiful, Loving, Giving and Devoted caregiver to her entire family.
On June 11, 1960 in Portsmouth, she married Henry Scaggs Jr. and he survives, also surviving are her children: Reba Nancy (Edward) McCormick of Kenton, Brenda Sue (Mark) Jordan of Prospect, Tina Scaggs of Prospect, Henry (JoJo) Scaggs III of Marion and David Allen Scaggs of Prospect,
daughter-in-law: Kristen Gregory of Columbus
siblings: Roger (Kay) Whaley of West Manchester and Donald (Janice) Whaley of California
grandchildren: Mickenzie (Jason) Alcorn, James McCormick, Brandy Nichole (Cann) Phipps, Bethany Kay Scaggs, Logan (Samantha) Potter, Stephanie (John) Clark, Jeremy (Lauren) Jordan, Jessica (John) Hines, Richard (Kayla) Jordan, Cassady Krack, Heather Krack and Bridget Scaggs
great grandchildren: Riley Marie “Roo” Alcorn, Kaine, Lincoln and Maddix Potter, Kylie and Audrey Walter, Jordan Clark, Thomas and Chyenne Jordan, Louise, Patrica, Jordan and Kelley Hines and one on the way.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday July 17, 2019 at 3:00 pm at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood, Rev. Adam Sornchai will officiate. Friends may call two hours prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm at the funeral home in Richwood
