Rose Mary Brooks


Rose Mary Brooks, 70, of Marysville, died late on July 20, 2019 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital following a brief illness.

Rose was born March 19, 1949 to the late Glenn and Bessie (Blackshier) Smith in Jackson County, West Virginia. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Michael Sims and Jon Brooks, as well as five brothers and three sisters.

Rose had worked at Advanced Eye Care in Delaware as an Insurance Administrator and had formerly worked at Central Ohio Mental Health. Along with her husband she pastored the Bible Faith Church in Mt. Victory. She loved her God, Church and was humbled by the opportunity to preach at the church.

Rose enjoyed cooking, baking and canning, vegetable soup and jellies were a couple of her specialties. But her family was the center of her life, she cherished all the time she was able to spend with them.

Rose is survived by her husband, Mike, and they were married June 20, 1975 in Barberton, OH. Also surviving are a son Rick (Tammy) Sims, Richwood; daughter Debbie (Kevin) Evans, Marysville; grandchildren, Michael (Ashlee) Sims, Hayden (Teslia) Sims, Krystal (Sarah) May, Brock (Jackie) Ridder, Colton (Camryn)Brooks, Chase Brooks, LeAnn (Mike) Swihart, Courtney Evans, Ashlee (Tony) Thompson, Brittanee (Trey) Sedgwick and Kristen (Nathaniel) Davis; numerous great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward (Betty) Smith, Ripley, West Virginia; a sister-in-law, Josephine Smith, Smithville.

Celebration of Life services will be Friday, July 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Miguel Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home in Richwood.
