Mary Donna Jordan

Mary Donna Jordan, 70 of Prospect died Sunday, November 29, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family after a twenty-three day battle with two separate stage four cancers.

She was born November 15, 1950 in Mt. Vernon to the late Mary Elizabeth (Miller) and Donald R. Fown. She was also preceded in death by a sister Susan D. Fown, nephew William M. Gatshall, great-granddaughter, Tamyra C. Jordan, and a sister-in-law, Judith Fown.

Donna was raised in LaRue, a 1968 graduate of Elgin High School. She married Murl D. Jordan of Prospect on November 22, 1968 at St Joseph's Catholic Church in LaRue. They were married for 52 years.

Donna was very outspoken and outgoing with a great sense of humor. She was very caring for others, and had a need for speed. She loved reading, crossword puzzles, telling stories, making others laugh, doing genealogy,  monthly girls day out, Fish Friday at Coonies Bar & Grill in LaRue, and traveling. She lived in different places such as KS, WA, LA, Germany, and Europe.

But Donna's greatest love of all was her family, specifically spending time with her husband, her son, and her granddaughter. She loved spending time with her new great granddaughter, Zalila, always teaching her to say "Hi,” as that was her son, Murl Dana's first word. She enjoyed teaching patty cake, exploring outdoors, letting her grab leaves from the trees, and overall enjoyed watching her grow.

Over the years she had worked at Quaker Oats and Plastic Film in Marion. She volunteered at the Hardin County Genealogy Center in Kenton for more than ten years and was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 368.

Donna is survived by her loving husband, Murl D. Jordan, Prospect; a son, Murl Dana Jordan, Prospect; a granddaughter, Cortney Dana (Domini) Harris; a great granddaughter, Zalila Harris; and seven brothers and sisters, Harmon (Mary Lucinda "Cindy") Fown, Linda D. Boles, Joan D. (William "Bill") Gattshall, Donald D. Fown, Thomas D. (Kimberly "Kim") Fown, Timothy D. (Jacquelyn "Jackie") Fown, Michael D. (Christina "Chris") Fown; brothers-in-law, Mark R. (Brenda) Jordan, Michel T. Jordan; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will take place in Spring 2021 at the Prospect Cemetery. Information will be posted on this site or contact Cortney.

Memorial gifts may be made to the James Cancer Hospital, 460 W 10th Ave, Columbus, OH 43210 and the Hardin County Genealogy Society Center, 211 W Franklin St, Kenton, OH 43326.
