William E. “Bill” Sheets


William E. “Bill” Sheets, 83 of Richwood, died Monday morning February 8, 2021 at the Monarch Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Marysville, due to complications from Covid-19.

He was born February 16, 1937 in Mansfield to the late Harold E. and Martha Belle (Treese) Sheets. He was also preceded in death by a brother: Dick Sheets and his stepfather: Robert Brisker.

Farming was his life. He learned about farming from his uncle, Watt Treese. Bill was very handy at many things including building, welding, electricity, metal fabrication and plumbing. He passed these traits along to his sons. He retired from Goodyear Rubber and Tire Co. in Marysville and had worked at the former Ranco plant in Plain City. His first job was working at Web Plastics in Richwood, making hula hoops.

Bill enjoyed traveling, camping, motorcycle riding, tractor pulls, snowmobiling and going on Boundary Waters Wilderness trips with family.
He took great pride in his antique tractors, he loved restoring them and then showing them.
Family time was special for Bill, he cherished family dinners and did not miss many of his kids, grandkids and great grandkids events.
He had been a member of the former Central United Methodist Church in Richwood and had been attending the Magnetic Springs United Methodist Church.
Bill will be remembered for his willingness to help anyone and that great Smile.


Surviving is his wife, Margaret Anne (Minner) Sheets, they were married October 7, 1955 in Richmond, Indiana.
Children: Chuck (Sherryl) Sheets, Richwood, Jim (Paula) Sheets, Richwood, Kathy (Mark) Knisley, Marysville. Foster Daughter Rose (Leo) Speicher, Richwood.
Grandchildren: Jackie Ward, Nick (Ashleigh) Sheets, Jennifer (Casey) Purdum, Josh Sheets, Brett (Kate) Sheets, Holly (Nick) Gardner, Heather (Jake) Davis, Shianne (Andrew) Niles and Stephanie (Weston) Knisley.
Great Grand Children: Kamille Ward, Christian, Macie and Ryleigh Sheets, Cody and Connor Purdum, Addison and Ava Sheets, Graham and Margaret Davis.
Special brother-in-law: Richard (Sue) Minner of London

Public graveside services (everyone is welcome) will be held Tuesday February 16, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Claibourne Cemetery, Pastor Judy Cramer will officiate. Private calling hours will be held.
