James Melvin Jamison


James Melvin Jamison, 81, of Sebring, FL died Friday, October 9, 2020, at Good Shepherd Hospice House. He was born October 12, 1938, to the late Gaston and Dorothy (Adkins) Jamison in Nebo, North Carolina. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Jamison; son, Allen Edward “Eddie” Jamison; brothers Ernest, Kenneth and Richard.

James served as a Rifleman with the Second Marine Division from June 1956 to April 1958.

He is survived by his children Carolyn Fulford, Sebring, FL; Steve Jamison and Daniel Jamison both of Marion, Ohio; sister Linda Lockwood of Dundee, FL; sisters-in-law Carol Sue (Dennis) Belt, Cadiz, KY and Peggy Jamison, Richwood, OH; his loving grandchildren Melvin Joe Jamison; CO, Serena Jamison, Richwood, OH; Michael and Dustin Gonzalez, FL; Stormie and Alexis Jamison, Marion, OH; great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

James joined his wife in donating his body to science to be studied by new doctors. A graveside service will be held at the Claibourne Cemetery on what would have been James and Nancy’s 62nd wedding anniversary on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 11:00 AM., officiating will be Pastor Steve Brown. Military honors will be conducted by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #1095, Delaware and the U. S. Marine Corps.
