Danny Lee Nelson
Danny Lee Nelson, 66 of Richwood, died peacefully Saturday morning August 28, 2021 at his home.
He was born January 2, 1955 in Marysville to the late Merlin H. and Mary Ann (Schuler) Nelson, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Linda Kay Nelson, grandsons, Curtis Speakman and Justin Manns and great grandson, William Nelson.
Danny was as a 1973 graduate of the North Union High School. He was a heavy equipment operator for ODOT, working out of the Richwood and Delaware offices. He retired in 2000 after 25 yrs. He was also an auctioneer.
Danny enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, he loved them all.
Danny was a member of the Byhalia Friends Church.
On April 23, 1977 at the Grace Chapel, he married Peggy Lee (Hendrickson) and she survives, also surviving are two daughters: Shelly (Brian) Manns of Richwood and Becky (Dale) Speakman of LaRue.
Grandchildren: Katelynn Nelson, Mackenzie (Stinemetz)Bigler, Deseria Fryman, Devin Manns and Brian Manns
Great grandchildren: Owen, Omari, Jaxon, Paizley, Elaine, Lyric and Prezley Manns, Daniel Lee Nelson, Remington Nelson and Keegan Fryman
Funeral Services will be held Thursday September 2, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood, Pastor James Gardner will officiate, burial will follow in the Byhalia Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home in Richwood.
Memorial gifts may be made to the funeral home to help the family with unexpected expenses.
