Donald LeeRoy Campbell

Donald LeeRoy Campbell, 80 of Prospect died Thursday, September 23, 2021 at OhioHealth Berger Hospital in Circleville.

He was born September 20, 1941 in Columbus to the late Donald Wilson and Vivian Maude (Pepple) Campbell

Donald served our country in the U. S. Army and was retired from PPG where he had worked for over 30 years. A great military historian, he was a member of the 30th Ohio where he participated in Civil War Reenactments.  He was an avid miniature war gamer, making a lifetime investment the hobby creating and painting miniature soldiers and weapons of war. He was a cartographer and enjoyed drawing maps, even conjuring a fictitious country called Urland using his vivid imagination. Since he created the country, naturally Donald declared himself King of Urland.

He was a great conversationalist and could speak at length with anyone on virtually any subject and listened with great interest to what people had to say. Donald genuinely cared about people’s opinions. He also had a voracious appetite for football, watching NCAA games all Saturday, as well as traveling the state to attend high school football games on Friday nights.

He is survived by two sons, Erick (Donna) Campbell, Ashley; Nathan (Alison) Campbell, Prospect; a daughter, Tanya (Kevin) Foulk, Prospect; six grandchildren, Jessica, Mason, Cassandra, Gage, Cameron, and Vallan; two great-grandchildren, two brothers, William Campbell, Marion; Frank “David” Campbell, Prospect; a sister, Patricia Campbell-Rhodes, Howard and several nieces and nephews.
