Rothadelle and Gerald Moore


Rothadelle Moore, 90, died Tuesday December 21, 2021, and Gerald Moore, 90, died Wednesday December 22, 2021, both at their home in Amanda.

They were born 3 days apart, married 72 years, & went to heaven within hours of each other! They were married June 7, 1949 in Cambridge City, Indiana.

Rothadelle was born May 31, 1931 in Dayton to the late William Harlan and Alma Clarice (Sweatt) Parson. She was also preceded in death by two sisters: Barbara Lee Knox and Jonelle Ward.

She had worked as a Dental Assistant in Columbus. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed traveling to Florida and spending time there. She and Gerald were involved with the Teen Missions while they were there. Family was the most important thing to Rothadelle, she cherished her time with her entire family.

Church was a big part of their lives; they had attended the First Church of the Nazarene on King Ave. in Columbus and the LaRue Baptist Church. They both were musically inclined, as they were involved with various singing groups throughout their lives.

Gerald was born May 28, 1931 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to the late Walter and Dora (Hill) Moore, he was also preceded in death by siblings: Donald and Norman Moore and Shirley Bond.

Gerald had many jobs during his life. He had worked for the City of Columbus as an Inspector; he was also an electrician. He had been a Potato Farmer & Broker, he was a member of the Ohio Potato Farmers Assn. He also had worked at Honda of Marysville.

Surviving are their children: Cynthia (John) Morehead, Amanda, Gail Howard, Amanda, Gerald (Cheryl) Moore II, Sugar Grove and Daniel Moore, Hilliard
they were preceded in death by a daughter: Cheryl Eble
also surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are Rothadelle’s sisters: Carol (Mark) Lawson and Darla (Rich) Winchel; and
Gerald’s sister: Margery (Vernon) Huston.

A combined funeral service will be held Monday, January 3, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in LaRue, Pastor Tim Pasma will officate. Burial will follow in the LaRue Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the Service beginning at 12 noon at the funeral home in LaRue.
