Michael Patrick Anderson
Michael Patrick Anderson, 56 of Marion and formerly of Prospect, died Wednesday February 1, 2023 in Marion.
He was born September 27, 1966 in Marion to the late Michael P. and Flora Mae (Reaper) Anderson. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Rhonda Anderson and a brother-in-law, Dale Carr.
Mike was a 1984 graduate of the Elgin High School. He excelled in all sports, football, basketball and baseball. Whatever sport he was doing, he was usually one of the best. In later years to keep in touch with sports, he actually became an official. Mike held the scoring record at Elgin in basketball for many years, even without the three-point line.
Mike had worked for Baker Concrete and with Tom Harris in construction.
Mike will be remembered for his stubborn, competitive spirit. Life was not always easy for Mike, but he was helpful to many and was known to have a little bit of fun once in a while.
Surviving are his children, Kain and Kori (Geavonni Ross) Anderson
