Sheryl Cox, 75 of Marysville, died Thursday March 16, 2023 at the Memorial Hospital in Marysville.
She was born April 14, 1947 in Urbana to the late Frank and Roberta (Wood) Cordell, she was also preceded in death by her husband James Arthur Cox, he died May 29, 2022. Sheryl was also predeceased by a brother, Barry Cordell. She was a 1965 graduate of the Fairbanks High School. She had worked at the Ranco and Flxible plants in Delaware. Sheryl was a huge sports fan, she loved her OSU Buckeyes, rarely missing a game. In her younger days, she played softball. She was a pitcher and catcher, having played for the former Stocksdale Dollarettes. Sheryl was also very good at bowling, something she greatly enjoyed. She was a huge fan of Elvis and loved the challenge of Jeopardy on TV. It could be said that she was a little bit competitive with her grandson, Cory, about who was better at Jeopardy. Sheryl’s loving and devoted family were always at the center of her life, she loved them all. Surviving are her daughters, Roberta Cox of Marysville and Jamie (Aaron Mintier) Rausch of Marysville, her grandson, Charles Cordell “Cory” Rausch, ex son-in-law, Chris Rausch Siblings, Diana Bryant of Marysville, Billie Jo Denty of Richwood and Karen Rush of London Sister-in-law, Susan Cordell of Marysville Special friends, Carson Stratton, Susan Sabins, April Blanton, Sandy Thompson and Angie Moore and her kids. Numerous nieces and nephews Graveside services will be held Friday March 24, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Mount Herman Cemetery, Dover Township. Pastor Nathan Custer will officiate. Memorial gifts may be made to the charities that Sheryl supported, Heart Failure Society of America, Marysville Boys Lacrosse Association and the Make a Wish Foundation The Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood is assisting the family.
