Marie Schultz


Marie Schultz, 88 of Richwood, died peacefully Thursday evening July 6, 2023 at the Memorial Hospital in Marysville.

She was born June 13, 1935 in Marion County to the late William and Ruth (Bradley) Traxler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Junior Schultz, they were married April 11, 1954 in Waldo and he died October 7, 1992. She was also predeceased by a great grandson, Derek Krawczyk and a daughter-in-law, Pam Schultz.

Marie was a 1953 graduate of the Waldo High School. She was a longtime member of the Fulton Creek Friends Church. She had driven school bus for 27 yrs. and had been an EMT for Prospect. Marie had also worked at the Richwood Bank. (as you can see, she was not one to sit around).
She took great pride and satisfaction from taking care of her home, she loved to mow her yard! She was known for making delicious Monster cookies and great meatballs. Marie loved her OSU Buckeyes; she rarely missed a game no matter the sport.

The true center of her life was her loving and devoted family, she loved them all. She was also “Grandma Rie” to more than just her family, Marie loved being around people.

Marie will be remembered for her loving, caring, ornery spirit. She will be missed.

Surviving are her children, Pam (Kenny) Miller of Oak Harbor, Jean (Mike) Kibler of Richwood, Cindy (Craig) Scott of Richwood and Steve Schultz of New Bloomington

Grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) Krawczyk, Nicki (Matt) Brestle, Jamie Kibler, Jeremy (Michelle) Kibler, Jason (Jenna) Schultz and Cory (Bethany) Schultz

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held Wednesday July 12, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Fulton Creek Friends Church. Pastors Geoff Schultz and Art Minnehan will officiate. Burial will follow in the Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 4-7 pm at the church.
