Donald P. Krawczyk


Donald P. Krawczyk, 87 of Richwood, died peacefully Saturday January 20, 2024 at his home.

He was born September 25, 1936 in Tomaszow, Poland to the late Stanley and Bolka (Herda) Krawczyk. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife Darlene (Keefer) Krawczyk, she died December 22, 2023, a son Jeffrey A. Krawczyk and two brothers, Jimmy and Eddie Krawczyk.

Don emigrated to the U.S. with his parents in 1938, initially settling in Upper Sandusky, and later Prospect. He was a 1954 graduate of the Prospect High School.  Don met his soulmate Darlene (Keefer) and they were married June 23, 1956 in Indiana. They celebrated 67 years together in 2023.

He worked 39 years for Whirlpool Corporation in Marion and was proud of his work, the company, as well as enjoying lifetime friendships with co-workers. But his real passion was farming. He was raised on a farm and followed his dad in farming. He had an old country work ethic. He loved driving around looking at farms, fields, visiting with farming friends and stopping in at local agricultural businesses.

He was a member of the Richwood First Methodist Church and had formerly attended the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Prospect.

He played basketball in high school and enjoyed watching Ohio State and college basketball. He loved spending time with his sons, grandchildren and family. He had friends from all walks of life and had many friendships. He and Darlene spent many winters in Florida visiting friends and spending time with Darlene’s sister Lyn.

Surviving is his son, Kevin (Becki Nace) Krawczyk of Powell, grandchildren Connor (Maddy Alderson) Krawczyk, Jud Krawczyk, Camden Krawczyk and Cody Yates
Siblings, Stanley (Kay) Krawczyk of Richwood, Richard Krawczyk of Richwood and Alice Zawojski of Grand Haven MI., and many extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday January 25, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Richwood First Methodist Church. Pastor Joseph Rhea will officiate. Burial will follow in the Claibourne Cemetery, Friends may call Wednesday from 4-7 pm at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood.
