Marberta F. “Bert” Petty, 66, of Prospect died Tuesday morning, January 17, 2006 at Marion Pointe. She was born March 8, 1939 in Prospect to the late Atha P. and Dorothy M. (Risner) Newell.
She was a Homemaker. She was a member of Prospect VFW Post 368 Ladies Aux., a life member of VFW Post 7201 and a life member of DAV Chapter 22. On Nov. 8, 1981 she married Ralph L. Petty, who survives in Prospect. She is also survived by 1 son Steve (Deana) Moneysmith, Caledonia; 1 step-daughter, Cheryl (Jason) Bradford, Dacula, GA; 3 granddaughters, Amy, Lauren and Megan; 2 step-grandchildren, Megan Holmes and Cody Bradford; 2 sisters, Arlene (Ray) James, Prospect; and Rebecca M. Newell, Prospect. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 21, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the Gehm-Ballinger Funeral Home, Prospect. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Gehm-Ballinger Funeral Home, Prospect on Friday from 4 to 7 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Quality of Life Hospice at Marion General Hospital 278 Barks Rd., Marion, OH 43302.
