NEW BLOOMINGTON — Alvena Hyacinth Schaber, age 85, of 623 Schmidt Road, New Bloomington, Ohio, died Friday, Aug. 28, 1998, at 7:25 a.m. at Marion General Hospital.
She was born April 28, 1913, in LaRue, Ohio, to the late Lawrence and Rosa (Scherger) Tilton. On June 7, 1936, in Girard, Ohio, she married Carl R. Schaber and he survives.

She was born April 6,1925, in Columbus. Her parents were Loren C. and Georgia Hildibrand Mathys.
She married Robert W. Schmelzer, who survives, on Aug. 12,1941.
