She was born in Richwood on March 13, 1926, the daughter of Paul and Madonna (Maddex) Speyer. She went to Richwood-Claibourne Schools (As they were known before consolidation). | Phyllis J. Rees the Richwood First United Methodist Church where she was an organist. She was also the pianist for the Richwood Civic Center Kitchen Band and a member of TOPS.
In her retirement years she took up the art of traditional rug hooking and was an active member of the Ladies of the Wool and the Buckeye Rug hooking Guild.
Her greatest joy was her three sons of whom she was so proud. She also loved the family dogs.
